If you've decided you want to become better at playing poker, you are not the first in line. Poker is a game that has been around for over a hundred years, and it is played by thousands of people every day.

Becoming better at poker is something that many people strive to achieve. It’s not just about winning more money, either.

Once you become really good, the game becomes so much more interesting.

All of a sudden, you are able to make the moves that you wouldn’t have dreamt of before. You can put your opponents on correct ranges and make the right play at the right time. All of this requires time and effort, of course.

However, if you want to play poker in real life and not online, there is one particular aspect that many players often overlook. You have to make sure that you know how to control your body and your movement so as not to give away your hand.

In this article, you can find three pieces of advice that will help you with just that. If you need more practice with the game itself, however, you can always find your way to Zamsino, where there are hundreds of different poker games ready for your entertainment.

Relax Your Face and Muscles

If you want to get better at playing poker and are just starting out, you have to make sure that your face relaxes and the muscles in your body are as at ease as possible.

With this, you’ll become relaxed when playing so that you do not give away the strength of your poker hand to your opponents by being nervous.

This is something that you should spend some time practicing at home. If you are not quite there yet, it might be a good idea for you to play poker with friends or strangers just for practice so that you learn to relax.

Essentially, you have to practice your poker face. This is, however, not as relevant if you want to practice your skills online. Your opponents are not able to see you, so they can’t pick up any tells.

Use Sunglasses to Disguise Your Eye Movements

If you are having a hard time keeping your eyes still when involved in a hand, it might be a good idea to wear sunglasses.

This might sound ridiculous, as you are playing indoors, and quite frankly, it does look a bit funny. That said, it is a great way to hide your eye movements from your opponents and not allow them to gather any additional information.

Wear sunglasses to disguise your poker tells

The eye movement is one of the hardest things to control on our body, as it is an ingrained reflex in our system to look where our thoughts are taking us. Because of this, you might be giving away a lot about your hand and your plans without even realizing it.

So, if this is something you struggle with, don’t be shy to wear sunglasses at the table. Most local poker rooms allow it, and it's not against the rules. You might get a few smart comments and a couple of strange looks, but don't worry about it.

Your primary goal is to make as much money as possible, and you should resort to everything that helps you do that, as long as it's not against the game rules. As you get better and gain more experience, you probably won't feel the need to wear sunglasses anymore.

Record Yourself Playing Poker

Finally, it might be a good idea to record yourself as you practice playing poker. This will make it easier for you to see the different tells that you have. These are small things that you do with your body that might make it easier for others to predict your moves.

Everybody has a tell or two, even professional poker players, but if you are able to identify them and eradicate the biggest of them, you’ll make things much more difficult for your opponents.

Identifying your tells does take some time and careful observation, though.

You might want to ask for help from a friend watching the recording. They might be able to pick up on some things that just seem natural to you.

Identify your own poker tells

All this being said, you should understand that small tells aren’t that important unless you’re playing against the best players in the world. Most people in your local game won’t be able to spot them or interpret them correctly, so it’s not something you should lose too much sleep over.

But, as a poker player, you should always strive to get better, and removing tells, no matter how little or insignificant, is a part of the process. One day, you might find yourself in a really tough game, and not giving away anything will certainly help your winning chances.
