Playability in poker is the overall potential a player’s hole cards have after the flop. Properly evaluating a hand’s playability helps the player avoid being dominated. A hand’s perceived pre-flop strength doesn’t necessarily mean it has good playability.

For instance, a suited T 9 hand offers much better playability than an offsuit K T hand. This is because the T 9 hand can improve in more ways compared to the K T hand, as the cards are both suited and connected.
