CoinPoker is launching its biggest single tournament to date with The One, a new $250 event carrying a $5 million guaranteed prize pool.
The headline number is even more striking at the top of the payout table. CoinPoker is guaranteeing $1 million to the winner, meaning first place will return 4,000 times the standard buy-in.
The inaugural The One will take place in October 2026. Qualification begins from September 28, with freerolls and satellites giving players several alternatives to paying the full $250 entry.
CoinPoker has also introduced an unusual Flight Buy-In-Back system. Players who qualify for Day 2 receive their qualifying flight buy-in back in cash.

How to Qualify for CoinPoker The One
Players do not need to pay the full $250 buy-in to reach The One.
Qualification opens from September 28, with the regular satellite schedule rolling out from September 29. Qualifiers continue through October 12.
There are three main routes:
- Freerolls
- Step satellites starting from $0.10
- Direct satellites starting from $5.50
Direct satellites are available at several buy-in levels, including $5.50, $11, $25, and $55.
That gives smaller-bankroll players a realistic route into the event without committing $250 directly.
Of course, satellite qualification does not make an entry free in practical terms unless it comes through a freeroll. Players should still consider the total amount spent across qualifying attempts.
The One Features 26 Day 1 Flights
CoinPoker has scheduled 26 Day 1 flights between October 4 and October 12.
From October 4 through October 11, three standard Day 1 flights run each day.
The schedule in UTC is:
- 1:30 PM UTC
- 4:30 PM UTC
- 7:30 PM UTC
These flights use 10-minute blind levels and allow 2.5 hours of late registration.
Each player starts with 125,000 chips, equivalent to 125 big blinds at the opening level.
The three daily start times also make the tournament more accessible across different regions. That is particularly useful for an international poker room such as CoinPoker.
Two Turbo Flights Give Players a Final Chance on October 12
The last two Day 1 flights take place on October 12.
Both use faster five-minute blind levels.
The starting times are:
- 12:30 PM UTC
- 2:00 PM UTC
These are the final opportunities to reach Day 2, which begins later on October 12.
Players can enter as many Day 1 flights as they want.
However, qualifying multiple times does not produce multiple Day 2 stacks.
Instead, only the largest qualifying stack advances.
That is where CoinPoker's new Flight Buy-In-Back system becomes important.
How The One’s Flight Buy-In-Back Works
This is probably the most unusual part of The One.
Whenever a player qualifies for Day 2 from a Day 1 flight, CoinPoker refunds the buy-in paid for that qualifying flight in cash.
A player can then continue playing later Day 1 flights.
If they qualify again, CoinPoker refunds that qualifying buy-in as well.
Only the player's largest stack eventually advances to Day 2. The other successful qualifications are converted into cash payments.
What Happens If You Qualify More Than Once?
For every additional qualifying stack that does not advance, CoinPoker pays:
Day 2 minimum cash – Day 1 flight buy-in
That amount comes on top of the refunded Day 1 buy-in.
The example supplied by CoinPoker makes the system easier to understand.
Imagine Day 2 has a $700 minimum cash.
A player qualifies through a $250 Day 1 but already owns a larger qualifying stack.
The extra qualification would therefore produce:
$700 − $250 = $450 bonus payment
CoinPoker also refunds the original $250 flight buy-in.
The total value from that extra qualification would therefore be $700.
The actual amount depends on the final Day 2 minimum cash, so players should check the tournament lobby before making decisions around additional flights.
Qualifying for Day 2 Does Not Stop You From Playing More Flights
The structure creates an interesting incentive.
Normally, once a player has secured a Day 2 stack, entering another flight may have limited value unless stack accumulation is allowed.
The One handles this differently.
Players can try to improve their Day 2 stack while still receiving value from another successful qualification.
The largest stack advances.
Successful smaller stacks can generate the extra cash payment described above.
However, this should not be treated as guaranteed profit from re-entering. A player still has to qualify from each additional flight to receive the refund and payment.
Bankroll management therefore remains important despite the added incentives.
CoinPoker Adds a Daily Re-Entry Promotion
CoinPoker is also rewarding frequent Day 1 re-entries between October 4 and October 11.
On each promotional day, the three players making the most real-money re-entries into The One Day 1 flights receive a free $250 ticket.
The leaderboard resets every day at 00:00 UTC.
That means the same player can potentially win tickets on several different days.
The final daily promotion takes place on October 11.
Those winners receive their tickets before the final Day 1 flights take place on October 12.
This promotion clearly favors high-volume players, so I would not chase a leaderboard position purely for the ticket. The extra entries can easily cost more than the $250 prize.
For players already planning multiple attempts, however, it adds another layer of value.
CoinPoker Discord Hero Offers Another Free Route Into The One
CoinPoker community members have another opportunity to win a $250 ticket.
The site's Discord Hero promotion rewards members who contribute actively and positively to the official CoinPoker Discord community.
CoinPoker moderators nominate candidates, before community members vote for the winner.
The September Discord Hero receives:
- A $250 ticket to The One
- A coaching session
- A temporary Discord Hero role
- A community spotlight
Unlike the satellite system, this is not based on poker results.
Players interested in participating need to join and contribute to the official CoinPoker Discord community.

The One Starts As GOPC Comes to an End
The timing is not accidental.
CoinPoker's Global Online Poker Championship (GOPC) concludes on September 28 after offering $50 million in guarantees across more than 700 Medal Events.
Qualification for The One begins as GOPC reaches its conclusion.
That gives tournament players an immediate follow-up to CoinPoker's biggest series without a long break in the schedule.
The One is different from GOPC, though.
Rather than spreading the guarantee across hundreds of tournaments, CoinPoker is putting $5 million into one $250 event and guaranteeing $1 million specifically for first place.
That combination is what makes The One stand out.
Where The One Fits Into CoinPoker’s Tournament Schedule
The One becomes another major tournament brand for CoinPoker alongside events such as the $50 million GTD GOPC, the monthly CoinMillion, and the daily Daily Dollar.
CoinPoker has also hosted several festival-style series during 2025 and 2026.
These include the Battle of Malta Online series, World Poker Masters, and Winter Festival.
The room has also worked with poker brands including Triton Poker, Battle of Malta, and High Stakes Poker.
The difference this time is that The One is designed as CoinPoker's own recurring flagship tournament.
If the annual format continues as planned, the October 2026 event will be remembered as its inaugural edition.
Should You Satellite Into The One or Buy In Directly?
There is no single answer here.
A $250 direct entry is the simplest option. It also avoids spending time and multiple buy-ins trying to qualify.
Smaller-bankroll players can instead start much lower.
Step satellites begin from $0.10, while direct satellites start at $5.50.
Freerolls provide another route without a direct tournament entry cost.
I would base the decision on bankroll size rather than the size of the advertised first prize.
A $1 million top prize sounds huge, but The One remains a poker tournament with normal tournament variance.
Players should choose a qualification path that fits their bankroll and avoid chasing an entry through excessive satellite attempts.
Final Thoughts on CoinPoker’s $5 Million GTD The One
The headline numbers make The One difficult to ignore.
A $250 buy-in, $5 million guaranteed prize pool, and guaranteed $1 million first prize create an unusually large payout opportunity at this entry level.
There are also plenty of ways to qualify.
Players can use freerolls, step satellites, direct satellites, or buy into any of the 26 Day 1 flights directly.
For me, however, the most interesting feature is the Flight Buy-In-Back.
Refunding successful Day 1 entries and paying additional qualifiers based on the Day 2 minimum cash makes repeated qualification work differently from a standard multi-flight tournament.
The first Day 1 begins on October 4, while the two final turbo flights and Day 2 take place on October 12.
Players looking to qualify for less can start with CoinPoker's satellite schedule from the end of September.
