WPT Global's new Asia MTT Leaderboard promotions are underway, offering eligible Asian players two ways to earn extra rewards from regular tournament play.
Launched on October 19, 2026, the promotions offer $10,000 in weekly satellite tickets and 30 WPT Prime Taiwan packages worth $1,600 each.
The first weekly leaderboard is already in progress, with players competing for $110 satellite tickets until Sunday, October 25. Meanwhile, a separate nine-week ranking awards 30 packages for the WPT Prime Taiwan Championship in January 2027.
Both promotions use the same tournament results, meaning players can work toward weekly prizes and live-event packages simultaneously.
Important: These promotions are exclusive to eligible WPT Global players in Asia. Players in the United States cannot participate.

How the $10,000 Weekly Asia MTT Leaderboard Works
The Weekly Asia MTT Leaderboard began on October 19 and will continue until further notice.
Each leaderboard week runs from Monday at 00:00 to Sunday at 23:59 (UTC+8). The first week ends on October 25, with a new weekly competition beginning on October 26.
Eligible players collect points through regular WPT Global tournaments, with the top 91 finishers receiving a $110 WPT Prime Taiwan satellite ticket.
These tickets provide entry into online qualifiers awarding $1,100 WPT Prime Taiwan Championship seats.
The tickets cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another player.
Unlike traditional tournament prize pools, the leaderboard rewards players based on their activity and cashing results across multiple events.
How Are Weekly Leaderboard Points Calculated?
WPT Global uses two methods to calculate weekly leaderboard points:
- Early Bird Points: Players receive one point for registering before a tournament begins.
- Collected Prize Points: Players earn points based on their tournament winnings divided by the event's buy-in.
For example, imagine entering a $10 tournament and cashing for $100.
The $100 prize divided by the $10 buy-in produces 10 Collected Prize Points.
Registering before the tournament begins adds another Early Bird Point, bringing the total to 11.
The buy-in calculation uses the cost of one entry, even when a player enters the same event multiple times.
Most regular tournaments qualify, including phase tournaments. However, freerolls, invitationals, and satellites are excluded.
30 WPT Prime Taiwan Packages Available Through the Super Package Leaderboard
The second promotion adds another incentive for consistent tournament players.
From October 19 through December 20, WPT Global is running a nine-week Asia MTT Super Package Leaderboard.
The top 30 players in the final standings will each receive a $1,600 WPT Prime Taiwan package, bringing the combined package value to $48,000.
Here's the important distinction: players don't need to compete in a separate tournament series.
Instead, their weekly Asia MTT Leaderboard finishing positions determine their Super Package points.
The top 100 players each week receive points toward the overall standings.
| Weekly Leaderboard Rank | Super Package Points |
| 1st | 100 |
| 2nd | 85 |
| 3rd | 75 |
| 4th | 68 |
| 5th | 62 |
| 10th | 43 |
| 20th | 22 |
| 30th | 11 |
| 41st–50th | 4 |
| 76th–100th | 1 |
The full points table is available in the official Super Package promotion terms.
This creates an interesting dynamic.
A player might miss out on a weekly $110 ticket but still earn points toward a $1,600 live-event package.
With nine leaderboard weeks in total, consistency could become just as important as individual standout performances.

What's Included in the $1,600 WPT Prime Taiwan Package?
Each of the 30 Super Package winners receives:
| Package Component | Value |
| WPT Prime Taiwan Championship entry | $1,100 |
| Travel and accommodation allowance | $500 |
| Total Package Value | $1,600 |
The $500 expense allowance is credited to the winner's WPT Global account.
Players remain responsible for organizing their own travel, accommodation, and any required visas.
Package winners also become eligible for exclusive WPT Global Black Card benefits at the live Championship.
Additional Black Card Rewards
The Black Card offers three potential benefits:
$17,500 Last Longer Competition
The three highest-finishing eligible qualifiers receive additional prizes of $10,000, $5,000, and $2,500.
Bubble Protection
Eligible Black Card holders eliminated exactly one position before the money receive their $1,100 Main Event buy-in back.
Top-18 iPhone Reward
Eligible qualifiers finishing among the final 18 players receive a new iPhone.
These benefits are conditional. Players must follow the tournament's Black Card requirements, including wearing the provided WPT Global logo.
The extra rewards are not guaranteed parts of the $1,600 package.
My Take: Is the Asia MTT Leaderboard Worth Chasing?
I find the structure interesting because it rewards two different types of performance.
The weekly leaderboard gives active tournament players a relatively immediate target. The Super Package adds a longer-term incentive for players who can maintain strong results.
However, I wouldn't recommend increasing tournament volume purely to chase leaderboard points.
The Collected Prize Points formula rewards cashing relative to the buy-in. Playing expensive tournaments doesn't automatically produce more points.
Early registration also provides a small advantage through the extra point.
For serious MTT players, the smarter approach is to build a schedule around profitable tournaments. Leaderboard rewards should add value to that schedule, not dictate every decision.
It's also worth considering tournament registration timing. Our guide to the advantages and disadvantages of late registering poker tournaments explores the strategic trade-offs involved.
The extra Early Bird Point adds another factor to that decision, although its actual value depends on the leaderboard competition.
For players already grinding regular WPT Global MTTs, these promotions offer an additional reason to follow their weekly results.
