A hand history in online poker is an internal record a poker site keeps in order to resolve any potential disputes and track players through various metrics. Some poker sites also show hand histories to players, although players can only see their own hole cards and the hole cards revealed during the game. 

Hand History Poker Example:

For instance, a hand history will generally include information like the game type and table limits, the names and positions of players, each player’s chip stack size, hole cards and face-up cards, and the betting actions the players make in each of the betting rounds.
