The PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker kicked off a few days ago, and, not surprisingly, the series is off to a great start.

The ever-popular SCOOP is one of the largest and best-known online MTT series in existence that players have learned to look forward to. Over the years, it’s only grown bigger and better, expanding its schedule and boosting its guarantees.

The 2024 SCOOP by PokerStars comes with a huge promise of $75,000,000 over 380 tournaments divided, as always, into three orbits: Low, Medium, and High. Thus, the series offers plenty of action for all players, from those grinding it out on small bankrolls to big-name pros and high rollers.

The 2024 SCOOP Kicks Off in Style

The 2024 Spring Championship of Online Poker kicked off on May 5, so we’ve already seen a fair number of tournaments take place and players claiming their SCOOP titles.

Many PokerStars ambassadors and Team Pro members have been streaming their efforts, including the likes of Lex Veldhuis and Benjamin Spragg, aka. Spraggy.

Spraggy was one of the players who managed to find a big cash early in the series. After qualifying for $109, he went on to win the $1,050 Super Tuesday (SCOOP 16-M event), he finished third out of 538 players, pocketing over $52,000 for his efforts.

Although he wasn’t able to go all the way in this one, this is certainly a great start to the 2024 SCOOP, which will help boost both his bankroll and his confidence for the remainder of the series.

He followed up that result with a sixth-place finish in the $1,050 SCOOP24-H, earning another $8,750 in prize money and bounties. If early days are anything to go by, it seems likely Spraggy will find at least one win before the series runs its course.

Veldhuis will certainly put in a big volume over the next three weeks, as he’s known to do whenever there is a major series happening. These efforts will result in many deep runs and, quite likely, in at least a few wins.

Big Weekend Action on the Horizon

If you still haven’t joined the SCOOP action, there is plenty of time remaining, and the coming weekend is a great time to dip your toes into the water.

Saturday and Sunday will be brimming with action, with a range of events to accommodate all bankrolls and game preferences.

Perhaps the most interesting event on offer this weekend is SCOOP 35, a Mystery Bounty tournament promising a lot of action and featuring big guarantees. The event takes place on Saturday and is available in all three orbits:

  • SCOOP 35-L: $55 Mystery Bounty with $250k GTD
  • SCOOP 35-M: $215 Mystery Bounty with $400 GTD
  • SCOOP 35-H: $1,050 Mystery Bounty with $500k GTD

Mystery bounties will kick in once players are in the money, and the events are structured so that half of the buy-in goes towards the regular prize pool, and the other half goes into the mystery bounty pool.

For those who enjoy fast and furious action, Saturday also brings SCOOP 38, a single-reentry turbo PKO event. Of the three versions, particularly interesting is the $11 one (Low), which comes with a very respectable guarantee of $50,000.

Sunday, May 12, brings something for high rollers to get excited about, as Day 1 of the $5,200 SCOOP 41 Titans event gets underway. This is the High version of the Sunday Million, offering $600,000 in guaranteed prizes and a slow structure with 20-minute levels after the first hour.

Wrapping up the Sunday SCOOP action are three Sunday Cooldown events, PKO tournaments with a fast structure to bring your weekend grind to the end. The Low version comes with a buy-in of just $5.50 and a guarantee of $35,000, so it’s definitely well worth getting involved with.

The SCOOP Title Chase Is On

We are only a few days into the 2024 SCOOP, and there are loads of events remaining on the schedule. With big payouts and the prestige that comes with winning a SCOOP title, this is one online poker series that you don’t want to miss.

PokerStars has set things up in a way where all players can get involved, and you don’t need a huge bankroll to join the grind. There are 128 individual events in each of the orbits, so even if you were to play just Low tournaments, there is more than enough to keep you busy over the next three weeks.

Waste no time – get into the mix this weekend, and if you get off to a good start in one of the tournaments, you could have your entire SCOOP bankroll figured out!
