Jared Bleznick is a poker player who needs no introduction. In addition to his results on the felt, Bleznick has been captivating the attention of the fans with his chilled and laid-back attitude and his burning passion for collecting sports cards.
There is no doubt that Blez feels at home in a live setting, but with the World Series of Poker in the books, he turned his attention to online cash games. To kick things off in August, Jared jumped into some high-stakes PLO games over at CoinPoker, mixing it up with some of the other regulars.
CoinPoker has built up a reputation as the number one cryptocurrency poker room, largely catering to high-stakes players who are always looking for more action. This approach is paying off for the operator, creating a nosebleeds environment like we haven’t seen in quite a while.
Big Pots Galore at Coin Poker
Last weekend, the site was a proper high-stakes battleground, with Jared Bleznick, playing under his moniker ‘Theblez,’ driving the action, joined by the likes of ‘Giselle54,’ a verifiable PLO wizard, ‘PencilArms,’ and ‘KennedyP.’
The action was fast and furious, with heads-up as well as three and four-handed games running for hours. With blinds at $200/$400 and $500/$1,000, this was a proper throwback to the glory days of online nosebleed games over at Full Tilt Poker.
Not surprisingly, this setup led to some high-pressure situations and massive pots, with Bleznick sitting with $1,000,000 in front of him at one point during his heads-up duel against ‘PencilArms.’
The biggest pot of the weekend was played between ‘PencilArms’ and Bleznik, where all the money went into the middle on the board of A♠10♠8♦2♣.
Bleznick turned over K♠8♠J♦10♣ for two pair, a gutshot to the broadway, and the nut flush draw. However, he still needed some help, as his opponent held 10♥8♥8♣5♥ for a set of eights. They decided to run it twice, but Jared bricked on both rivers, and ‘PencilArms’ collected a pot of over $543,800.
‘Theblez’ did better in big pots against ‘Giselle54,’ though, where he managed to win a $500k pot himself, after flopping the full house on the board of A♠5♥5♣. ‘Giselle54’ proceeded to call Bleznick’s big bets on all three streets, as the board ran out 8♦ and 4♥.
Ever-Burning Passion for Poker
While Jared Bleznick’s results on the felt speak loads about his skills, there is another thing that we can be even more certain about, and that’s his true passion for the game.
Following the conclusion of the summer series, Jared took it to Twitter to post a video about his experience playing and commentating, thanking the community for the opportunity.
You guys have no idea how much it means to me, the fact that all the praise and all the good feedback I got, and how many people have told me they’re watching poker because I’m commentating.
Truly showing in this short video is Bleznick’s passion for the game and his desire to educate and inspire everyone out there to take up poker, and especially games that are not Hold’em.
And, if there were any doubts about his sincerity, his recent showing at CoinPoker should do away with those. Fresh off the series, Jared found the highest stakes PLO games around and jumped straight in without any fear or hesitation.
As poker fans, we can only hope this trend will continue and we’ll once more get to look forward to regular nosebleed sessions featuring some of our favorite heroes. For those of us who remember the glory days of Full Tilt, those were some of the most exciting moments, and it would be so great to bring that feeling back.
