The 2024 Irish Open festival in Dublin is about a month away, taking place March 25 – April 1, and PokerStars is looking to get as many players as possible to the Irish capital.

With this being one of the longest-running poker festivals around (and, arguably, one of the most fun ones to play), there is no lack of interested players. However, for many, there are certain bankroll constraints that represent a big obstacle.

PokerStars will be removing that obstacle for 17 players with its Irish Open Online, a tournament series that kicks off on February 26 and guarantees $645,000 in cash prizes and 17 Silver Passes to be used for the live series.

A Schedule to Fit Every Pocket

The Irish Open Online schedule features 17 events with a variety of buy-ins, giving all players a chance to get involved. Buy-ins start at just $11 and go up to $320, so even at the higher end, these tournaments remain fairly affordable.

In addition to generous cash guarantees and nice monetary prizes that those who make deep runs can look forward to, PokerStars is also throwing in a Silver Pass for every event winner.

The Silver Pass is worth $2,500 and can be used at the Live Irish Open in Dublin. That $2,500 value breaks down as follows:

  • Entry to the €1,150 Irish Open Main Event
  • €550 to enter any side event at the 2024 Irish Open
  • Bonus entry to the €500k GTD Mini Irish Open (€200 value)
  • Some cash for expenses
  • Various activities and exclusive merchandise

All in all, the Silver Pass offers great value for anyone looking to get involved with the longest-running poker festival outside of Las Vegas.

The live version of the Irish Open runs March 25 – April 1 and offers a very rich schedule that includes some Mystery Bounty action, Ladies Championship, a few PLO events, and much more. The Main Event comes with a generous guarantee of €1,000,000.

Irish Open Online Highlights

If you want to take advantage of this opportunity, there is more than enough time to clear your grinding schedule and prepare for the action, as the Irish Open Online kicks off on February 26 and lasts through March 4, with most days featuring two events.

In addition to Silver Passes for event winners, there is $645,000 in cash guaranteed across 17 events featured on the series schedule.

As always, the biggest events will take place towards the end of the series, with the $109 Main Event with $150k GTD and $22 Mini Irish Open with $50k GTD taking place on March 3. On the last day, there is a $55 Mystery Bounty event with $65,000 guaranteed.

However, there is plenty of action leading up to these final tournaments, and players will find more than enough to keep them going and give them a fair shot at one of those coveted Silver Passes. For those on a tighter budget, there are:

  • Feb 26 – Event #2 – $22 PKO ($25,000 GTD)
  • Feb 28 – Event #6 – $11 Deepstack Turbo ($15,000 GTD)
  • Feb 29 – Event #7 – $22 Mystery Bounty ($40,000 GTD)
  • Mar 01 – Event #9 – $11 8-Game ($5,000 GTD)
  • Mar 01 – Event #10 – $22 PKO Turbo ($25,000 GTD)
  • Mar 03 – Event #15 PLO Semi-Turbo ($10,000 GTD)

On the other end of the spectrum, the most expensive event of the Irish Open Online is the $320 High Roller. This one takes place on February 29 and features a guarantee of $50,000.

Stamp Your Ticket to Dublin

The Irish Open Online offers great opportunities for those who already had plans to travel to Dublin but also opens doors for those players who always wanted to play in a big poker tournament but couldn’t quite afford it.

With many low buy-in events on the schedule and a good mix of different poker variations, there are opportunities for everyone, so why not give it a chance?

The tournament schedule is nicely spread over the course of a week, so you can make plans for the events you want to play and give them your full focus. And, who knows, you might be rubbing elbows with some of the poker greats come the end of March!
