Celebrate the Holidays with PokerStars New Year Series: $35 Million in Guaranteed Prizes Up for Grabs

The festive spirit can be felt with every breath we take these days, as Christmas and New Year’s Eve draw closer by the day, and PokerStars has not forgotten to help its players celebrate in style.

Starting on December 24, and running all the way through January 15, 2024, the New Year Series will feature 158 events across three buy-in orbits, allowing players of all profiles to fully enjoy the festive season at the virtual green felt.

Among those dozens of events, we are going to see every game type and format imaginable, including the long-awaited debut of mystery bounty tournaments at PokerStars, as well as a variety of mixed game events and unique formats like 5-max NLH.

Each of the orbits will conclude with a Main Event of an appropriate buy-in level, while a number of other notable events will contribute to the impressive $35,000,000 guaranteed prize pool, which will be spread out across the entire Series.

The first preliminary events of the PokerStars New Year Series are already running on the platform, with the first official events on the schedule for December 24, giving you plenty of time to sign up for your player account and join the festivities in full.

PokerStars New Year Series Highlights

The PokerStars New Year Series will be a truly impressive online poker festival, with more than 450 unique events running on the platform, and thousands of players guaranteed to compete each and every day.

The Series will feature a total guaranteed prize pool of $35 million, and a decent chunk of that money will be reserved for a handful of key events that the Series will revolve around.

To get things started, the special NewYear Series 03 – Big $109 Christmas Edition, will allow players to celebrate the coming of Christmas in style, as a minimum of $100,000 will be spread in the event running on Christmas Eve.

Plenty of exciting tournaments for players of all preferences will be on the schedule in the week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, but the next real highlights will be available on the first day of 2024.

To celebrate Earth completing another circle around the Sun, PokerStars will run the following three events on January 1, 2024:

New Year Series 51-L: $20.24 New Year Special – $300k GTD
New Year Series 51-M: $202.40 New Year Special – $750k GTD
New Year Series 51-H: $2,024 New Year Special – $400k GTD

Without a doubt, these events will draw out quite a crowd, and they may serve as a perfect way to get the New Year started in a big way by winning a chunk of these incredible prize pools.

Of course, like every PokerStars tournament series, the New Year Series will also feature a trio of Main Events, scheduled for January 14, one of the final days of the festival.

Here is what you can expect from the Main Events:

New Year Series 141-L: $109 Main Event – $1 Million GTD
New Year Series 141-M: $1,050 Main Event – $1.25 Million GTD
New Year Series 141-H: $5,200 Main Event – $1.5 Million GTD

Each of the New Year Series Main Events will be a three-day affair, so make sure you set the time needed to play in this one aside, as it may take you a while if you end up making a deep run.

Mystery Bounty Tournaments Debut at PokerStars

The mystery bounty format has become the biggest thing in poker since it made its debut on the live tournament circuit, and now it’s finally coming to PokerStars as well.

For the first time ever, PokerStars will run a pair of Mystery Bounty events on January 7, offering a chance to win big with every single elimination you score in the late stages of the event.

The following Mystery Bounty events will be available on January 7:

$11 Mystery Bounty: $250kGTD
$109 Mystery Bounty Sunday Million: $1 Million GTD

The first ever Mystery Bounty edition of the Sunday Million will be a particularly interesting one, and while PokerStars is guaranteeing the usual $1 Million for the event, we can expect quite a few more to show up for this historic tournament.

The easiest way to battle of some New Year Series tickets will be through the special edition Spin & Go tournaments, which will be running at just $0.55 a pop. At the same time $0.75 and $4 Spin & Go tournaments will also be giving away entries to both the Main Events and the New Year Specials.

PokerStars Power Path winners will also have a chance to exchange their Silver and Gold Passes for New Year Series ticket bundles.

Gold Pass winners will get a chance to play the $5,200 Main Event, along with four $1k events and a handful of other lower buy-in tournaments, while Silver Pass winners will be able to exchange their passes for bundles that include $1k tickets, or ones that offer a bigger number of lower buy-in tickets.
