The World Poker Tour (WPT) continues this August with an exciting two-week WPT Prime festival in Taiwan, set to be hosted by the Asia Poker Arena in Taipei City.
An exciting two-week festival will culminate in a TWD 33,000 ($1,100) WPT Prime Championship, but players will have dozens of opportunities to play their favorite games for stakes as low as TWD 2,000, as well as to qualify for the Championship event itself.
This year, WPT Prime Taiwan will be looking to build upon its success over the last couple of years and bring in an even bigger crowd to create its record prize pool to date.
The WPT Taiwan festival will be running from August 6 to 19, with the Championship event starting on August 15. If you are considering making the trip, keep on reading and find out all there is to know about the festival, the events you can play there, and more.
Can WPT Prime Post Record Numbers?
Over the last couple of years, WPT Taiwan has been one of the most successful stops for the popular mid-major tour, as it was able to attract hundreds of players from across Asia and beyond.
In 2022, the festival was played in November, and it brought together 877 players for the Championship event, with French player Marc Inzan taking home the top prize.
Apart from him, the final table was dominated by Asian players, but his victory demonstrated that interest in WPT Taiwan exists even in Europe.

Last year, the Championship event managed to shatter its previous records, with 1,359 players making their registration and South Korean player Seonguk Huh winning a prize worth more than $200,000 for his efforts.
Another French player was in the mix at the final table, while players from Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan all had great success and took home significant scores.
This time around, WPT will be looking to make WPT Prime Taiwan even bigger and more successful, and it is expected that Asian poker players will show up in force and potentially even create a new attendance record at the biggest event of the festival.
Two Weeks of Non-Stop Poker Action
While the No Limit Hold'em Championship event will undoubtedly take center stage, dozens of smaller events will run around it, starting as early as August 6.
These events will give players a chance to build up some momentum leading up to the Championship, taste victory in smaller fields, and possibly even win the money they need to make playing the WPT Prime Taiwan Championship more convenient.
The schedule has been created with true grinders in mind, with both lower and higher stakes events on the agenda every day, and multiple single and multi-day events running throughout the series to ensure you have an event to jump into at all times.
