Just as the record-breaking 54th Annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) comes to a close, the world’s biggest poker tour announced a brand new winter festival, to be played in the Bahamas, under the name of WSOP Paradise.
Scheduled to take place between December 3 and 14 on the beautiful Paradise Island, a venue that hosted quite a few major poker events in the past, WSOP Paradise looks to become one of the major wintertime tournament festivals.
WSOP will be launching WSOP Paradise in cooperation with its online poker partner, GGPoker, which means you can look forward to plenty of satellite action and qualification opportunities in the months to come.
A busy schedule of events across different buy-in levels will make WSOP Paradise one of the most attractive poker festivals of the year, and the massive guaranteed prize pools should do the job of bringing in players from across the globe.
Over $50 Million in Guaranteed Prizes
The idea for WSOP Paradise came on the heels of the record-breaking year for the original WSOP in Las Vegas, which saw tens of thousands of players enter its events this summer, proving definitively that poker is still a game on the rise.
As such, WSOP and GGPoker have made some big plans for winter, and have pledged to guarantee $50,000,000 in cash prizes across a number of tournaments, with the full schedule yet to be announced.
What we do know already is that WSOP Paradise will feature a $5,000 Main Event with a massive $15,000,000 prize pool, making it one of the biggest events in this buy-in range.
ICYMI: @WSOP is heading to paradise this winter to kick off a new live tournament poker series, WSOP Paradise. The new series, made possible w/ @GGPoker, is set to take place from December 3-14, 2023, at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas.

A $1,500 Mystery Bounty event will bring the popular format to the Bahamas and feature a prize pool of at least $5,000,000. This means we will see thousands of players competing in this one at a reasonable price.
WSOP is also looking to make WSOP Paradise an ideal stop for all the deep pockets out there, as the High Roller events will feature unprecedented guarantees.
The $100k High Roller at WSOP Paradise will thus come with a $5,000,000 guarantee, while the $50k event will carry a guarantee of $2,000,000. The signature GGMillion$ tournament with a $25k buy-in will pay out at least $10,000,000 in prize money.
A couple of Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) events with seven-figure guarantees are also in the works, and poker players across the globe are hoping even more events will be scheduled soon.
In total, the Series will feature 15 WSOP bracelet events, which means there will be more announcements coming in the following weeks, with the community looking forward to hear more on both NLH and Mixed Games events that are in the works.
GGPoker to Make WSOP Paradise a Success
The luxurious Atlantis Resort, which will play host to WSOP Paradise, is no stranger to hosting major poker tournaments. A number of high stakes events played out at the venue in the previous years.
The venue will be more than ready to host the thousands of players expected to visit WSOP Paradise, but the massive guarantees and the remote location could be stumbling factors for the success of this festival.
To help with that, GGPoker has pledged to send at least 1,000 players to the inaugural WSOP Paradise, even more than the 774 who won entry to this year’s WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas via the online poker site.
You can expect to see all the GGPoker ambassadors, including the one and only Daniel Negreanu, playing at WSOP Paradise this winter, along with many of the world’s most talented players who are certain to come out for the High Rollers.
We expect more announcements regarding WSOP Paradise from WSOP and GGPoker in the coming weeks.
Stay tuned and wait to hear more on how you can win your seats and what other events you will be able to play in preparations for Christmas.
