Following a spectacular inaugural WPT Prime festival in San Remo last year, one of the world’s biggest mid-major poker tours is coming back to the City of Flowers, promising players from all over Europe an exhilarating experience.

For the second year in a row, the luxurious Casino Sanremo will play host to WPT Prime San Remo, with the festival running from May 31 to June 10 and the Championship event itself starting on June 6.

Last year, WPT San Remo saw 838 players join the Championship creating a prize pool of over €800,000, as Simone Andrian walked away with his first WPT Prime title and €157,973 in cash, a massive win in relation to the buyin fee.

This time around, the World Poker Tour will be hoping for an even bigger attendance, as last year’s contenders come back for a repeat and plenty of new players look to jump-start their poker careers in this prestigious event.

With the Championship now just a couple of weeks away, it is high time to look at the schedule, make your travel plans, or look to win one of the last seats still available through online satellites at WPT Global.

Exciting Schedule for Mid-Major Players

European poker players have a lot to get excited about, as early June will give them a unique opportunity to enjoy a full WPT festival with very affordable buyins.

The entire WPT Prime San Remo festival will be set in the €150 to €1,500 region, with plenty of smaller buyin events running every single day and the €1,100 Main Event being the pinnacle of the series.

While the buyins may be relatively small compared to those on the WPT Main Tour, the prize pools should still be quite substantial, as hundreds of players are expected to show up both from all regions of Italy and the rest of Europe.

If you are planning on visiting WPT Prime San Remo this year, here is a look at the full schedule to help you plan your trip and your bankroll accordingly:

Massive Field Expected in the WPT Prime Main Event

WPT Prime San Remo made its first appearance on the WPT calendar last year and was an immediate success, with over 800 players entering the several starting flights of the Championship event.

This year, WPT is going even harder and hoping to attract at least 1,000 players for the Main Event, and the numerous milestone qualifiers that will be running throughout the festival will probably have a big impact on that final number.

While there is no clear telling how big the field will get, the recent trends have showed us that live poker in Europe is only getting bigger each month, with multiple WPT and EPT festivals attracting huge player numbers.

Come early June, we would not be surprised to see the Main Event prize pool swell to over €1,000,000 and the top prize to be significantly higher than the one awarded to Andrian last year.

Win Your WPT Prime Main Event Seat Live or Online

The €1,100 WPT Prime Main Event will be the focal point of the entire festival, and hundreds of players are expected to make it in without paying the full buyin price.

WPT Global is running a number of satellites on its online platform, allowing players from all over Europe to win their seats from the comfort of their bedrooms for a fraction of the price.

On the other hand, those who make it out to San Remo will have a chance to qualify right there on the spot, with numerous live satellite tournaments running from the very first day of the festival.

If you are hoping to win a seat into the Main Event, here is a quick look at all the Main Event satellites you will have a chance to play over the 11 days of the WPT San Remo festival:
