Following the successful completion of the WPT Prime festival in Liechtenstein just days ago, the world’s premier mid-major poker tour moves to Nottingham, with the preliminary events of the WPT Prime UK Championship already underway.
Hosted by the prestigious Dusk Till Dawn poker club in Nottingham, the WPT Prime UK Championship will be offering a packed tournament schedule over the coming days, with buyins ranging from just £120 to £2,000.
The focal point of the festival will be the WPT Prime Championship event, which starts tomorrow and features a £260,000 guaranteed prize pool, which includes a seat in the upcoming WPT World Championship event this December.
Cards are already in the air, but there is still time to head over to Nottingham and join the action for all the key events of one of the best poker festivals in the UK this fall.
The World Poker Tour Is Back in England
A season of the World Poker Tour could hardly go by without at least one festival played on UK soil, and this year it was decided that there was no better place to host a WPT event than Dusk Till Dawn, popularly known as the home of British poker.
The popular club, owned by one of poker’s greatest ambassadors Rob Yong, already has a strong relationship with the WPT, and has previously hosted events as part of the tour.
Last May, Dusk Till Dawn played host to a WPT 500 event, which brought together 895 players to fight for a massive £500,000 guaranteed prize pool, where Aleksandrs Golubevs came out victorious.

The buyin is going up this time around, as WPT Prime UK Championship features a £1,100 buyin, while the guarantee will be down to just £260,000. However, this guarantee will almost certainly be shattered, as players turn out in force and look to capture the prestigious WPT Prime trophy.
The relatively short duration of the WPT Prime festival in Nottingham may result in slightly lower numbers than those shown at some other WPT Prime stops, but the allure of the WPT brand is guaranteed to bring out all of UK’s best mid-major grinders and plenty of poker aficionados from the region and beyond.
WPT Prime UK Championship Schedule
This year’s WPT Prime UK Championship offers a somewhat limited tournament schedule spanning from September 11 to 16, which means some of the events are already in progress.
Action started at Dusk Till Dawn yesterday with the £120 Deepstack Opener, followed by a Championship Feeder, which awarded five seats into the Championship event.
High Rollers already had a chance to shine as well in the first of two £2,200 High Roller events, while a £120 Bounty Hunter and another Championship Feeder with ten guaranteed seats.
Now, the action continues with the first flight of the Championship event, as well as two flights of the £175 Warm Up event, both scheduled for Friday, September 13.
Further opportunities to play both events will be available on Saturday, while the Dusk Till Dawn Cup with a £340 buyin starts on Sunday.

WPT Prime Tour Keeps Going Strong in 2024
World Poker Tour’s Prime tour was created to spread the attraction of live poker tournaments to the masses and give more players access to the WPT experience than ever before.
This year has been a huge success for WPT Prime, with more festivals played than ever before and record attendance numbers across numerous stops.
Most recently, WPT Prime attracted 1,411 entries with its Liechtenstein stop, shattering the CHF 1,000,000 guarantee and creating a true poker spectacle in the heart of Europe.
The tour now moves to the UK, where another huge turnout is expected, as British and foreign players make their way to the iconic Dust Till Dawn club in the hopes of turning a reasonable buyin into life-changing money.
Before the year is over, players will get a chance to play WPT Prime events in Montreal and Paris, both scheduled for October, as well as the WPT Prime World Championship in Las Vegas this December.
Those events, along with the WPT Prime UK Championship, will put the final touches on the masterpiece this season has been, setting the ground for even greater things in 2025.
If you live in Europe, WPT Prime UK Championship may be one of your last chances to play a WPT event this year, so head out to Nottingham while there’s still time and fight for your place in the poker history books this weekend.
