2022 has been an amazing year for live poker, which has finally come back in full force, and we have seen some amazing tournament series play out across all continents.

With December just around the corner, it’s time to start preparing for one of the most exciting events of the year, the WPT World Championship, which will be hosted at the Wynn Las Vegas between December 1 and December 19.

The WPT announced the full schedule for the festival back in August to the great satisfaction of the poker community. Now, with the festival just days away, it’s time to revisit the schedule and get ready for action.

We bring you another look at all the events you have to look forward to, ways you can still win your seat at the WPT World Championship, and even more information about the prestigious tournament series.

WPT World Championship 2022 Schedule

WPT events typically draw big crowds and a lot of attention, but the 2022 WPT World Championship will be special for quite a few reasons.

For starters, the $10,400 Main Event will feature a $15,000,000 guaranteed prize pool, which will make it the biggest live guaranteed tournament in the history of the game.

The prize pool means that at least 1,500 players are expected to play in the Main. If this doesn’t happen, the ones playing it will be looking at an overlay in a major WPT tournament, which is rarely seen.

On top of the Main Event, you will get a chance to play in several other marquee events, such as the WPT Prime Championship and WPT Ladies Event, both of which will be televised tournaments.

Yet, these events are just the cherry on the top, as the festival will feature a total of 23 tournaments over 19 days, with a total of $22,000,000 in guaranteed prizes.

Both No Limit Hold’em and Mixed Games players will have plenty of events to look forward to, as Wynn and WPT worked together to create a festival that caters to all player profiles.

WPT CEO, Adam Pliska, commented: “Our goal is to develop the WPT World Championship into one of the most talked about poker events of the year. Partnering with Wynn Las Vegas has allowed us to put the player experience first, and the festival schedule reflects that.

While the $10,400 World Championship event will be the most recognizable event of the festival, players who don’t want to risk the $10k can look to play the $1,100 WPT Prime Championship, which will feature an incredible $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The ladies who make it out to Vegas for the WPT World Championship will compete for a share of $200,000 guaranteed in the $1,100 Ladies Championship as well.

The last major event of the festival will be the Wynn Mystery Bounty with a $1,600 buyin and an opportunity to win as much as $100,000 for eliminating a single player, depending on the luck of the draw.

Mix Games players will have their own events to look forward to, including a $600 HORSE with a $50k guarantee, $600 Omaha 8 with a $50k guarantee, $3k Eight Game with a $200k guarantee, and much more.

With buy-ins ranging between $600 and $25,000, both recreational players and high-stakes pros will have at least a few tournaments to look forward to.

Win Your WPT Seat and Play Poker on TV

As is usually the case with major events such as the WPT World Championship, plenty of satellite tournaments will be hosted for all the major events of the series, allowing you a chance to play at a discounted rate and earn your way into the biggest events.

WPT will hand out at least 220 entries to the Main Event and other major events of the series in the satellites.

Your best opportunity to play in the $10,400 World Championship, if you don’t want to pay the full buyin, is the 50-seat satellite which will play out on December 11 at noon, just ahead of the Main Event.

More satellite seats will be given out in other, smaller satellites, and you can expect plenty of SNG satellites to spring up across the Wynn in the early days of December as the event draws closer.

Further online satellites are also still running at WPT Global, the online partner of the World Poker Tour, where you can win a $12,400 package for the WPT World Championship, as well as seats into the $1,100 Ladies Championship.

For those looking forward to potentially showing up on TV, the three major events of the festival will be televised and shown at Worldpokertourtv.com and social platforms, giving your friends and family a chance to cheer you on as you progress through the events.

The tournament schedule and other details are now set in stone, and you can get even more info about the events if you visit www.wynnpoker.com, the official website of the world-famous venue which will host the entire festival.
