The weekend ahead of us is one of the biggest weekends in online poker. It is the WCOOP Main Event weekend, with millions in prize money up for grabs and heaps of prestige that come with claiming any of these titles.

Thousands of players will be making their way to PokerStars tables, looking to test their skills and luck against thousands of professionals and hopeful recs alike. Those who end up winning will need to overcome huge odds, but prizes waiting in the end are well worth the shot.

The biggest action will take place in the three No Limit Hold’em Main Events where there will be at least $11 million up for grabs. However, fans of the great game of Pot Limit Omaha will have their fun as well, with three distinct tournaments aimed at PLO aficionados.

The $12.5 Million Weekend Ahead

All WCOOP Main Events will kick off on Sunday, September 29, with the three NLHE Main Events starting a few hours ahead of PLO tournaments. Depending on their bankrolls, players can get involved in one, two, or all three tournaments.

NLHE Main Events

  • $109 WCOOP 108-L – $2,500,000 GTD
  • $1,050 WCOOP 108-M – $3,500,000 GTD
  • $10,300 WCOOP 108-H – $5,000,000 GTD

While buy-ins and guarantees differ, all players will get a quality playing experience in the Main Event. Everyone starts with 250 big blinds, and blind levels are set at 20, 25, and 30 minutes.

The tournaments will play out in a classic format without any knockouts or mystery bounties, and deep stacks will guarantee plenty of play.

PLO Main Events

  • $109 WCOOP 111-L – $200,000 GTD
  • $1,050 WCOOP 111-M – $500,000 GTD
  • $10,300 WCOOP 111-H – $800,000 GTD

The three tournaments marked as PLO Main Events feature $1.5 million in guarantees between them, and also offer a very deep and slow structure.

For true PLO aficionados, these tournaments are real treats, although the fields will be much tougher as you can expect the ratio of regs and recs to be skewed towards regs, especially in Medium and High orbits.

All in all, there will be at least $12.5 million in prizes dished out in these six tournaments, although at least few of them are likely to break their respective guarantees.

It’s worth noting that these are all multi-day events, with NLHE ones set to take place over four days, while PLO tournaments will last for three days. So, if you decide to join the action, you better set some time aside as you’ll need it if you manage to build a stack and go on a good run.

Plenty of Satellites on Offer

There is still some time left to qualify for the Main Event of your choice if you can’t afford (or simply don’t want) to pay the full buy-in.

MTT satellites are running around the clock on PokerStars, with buy-ins starting as low as $0.55. If you start at the lowest of buy-ins, you’ll have to go through a few tournaments to get that seat, so plan accordingly and get on the grind early enough.

If you are looking for affordable satellites that will send you straight to the target tournament, there are plenty of those at the $22 level. Check out the PokerStars lobby and take your pick as there is more than enough to choose from.

Another route you can take is via the PokerStars Power Path. There are different options for single passes and pass bundles that you can use to enter your selected Main Events.

Finally, there are free giveaways that you can get involved with to get you started, so make sure to follow PokerStars on their social media channels for some last minute opportunities.

Be a Part of This Weekend’s Action on PokerStars

The weekend ahead is arguably the biggest and most important weekend of the year for any online tournament player. With millions up for grabs and the most prestigious of WCOOP titles on offer, there is plenty of reason to get in the mix and hardly any to stay away.

Satellites will be running around the clock all the way up to kick off, so there is more than enough time to figure things out and create a plan that best fits your bankroll.

Opportunities like the WCOOP Main Event weekend come around only once in a while and this is the time to put your grinding cap on, free up some time, and go for it!
