The World Poker Tour continues its journey around the world in an action-filled 2024, with the WPT Choctaw Festival now well underway.

In a few days, on May 3, hundreds of extra players will flock to Durant, Oklahoma, to join the WPT Choctaw Championship event at the Choctaw Casino & Resort.

The 9th edition of this particular WPT Main Tour event is expected to be a big one, although it may not quite outmatch the inaugural WPT Choctaw, which saw 1,175 entries made for a $4,000,000 prize pool.

Last year, WPT Choctaw Championship had 612 entries, with poker pro Jared Jaffe taking home $400,740 in cash prize and a prestigious WPT title.

Jaffe will certainly be back to defend his title, along with hundreds of other WPT regulars who will be coming hot off the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown action, which only finished a week ago.

WPT Choctaw Championship is Here

The WPT Choctaw festival has been running since April 17, with a variety of tournaments across different stakes already in the books.

The main highlight of the series, however, is the prestigious WPT Choctaw Championship event, which kicks-off on May 3 and features a $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

With a $3,800 buyin, WPT Choctaw Championship will offer two starting days on May 3 and 4, giving players an opportunity to pick their starting day and fit the tournament into their busy schedules.

All players in the Championship will start with 50,000 in tournament chips, with levels going up every hour and the tournament offering plenty of time for skill to outshine luck at the green felt.

The WPT Choctaw Championship will culminate in a televised final table, which will be played on May 30 in Las Vegas.

WPT fans will have a lot to look forward to in the last week of May, as the Tour will also bring us the final table of WPT SHRPS, which played down to the final table last week.

HyperX Arena Awaits the Finalists

The World Poker Tour is evolving in many ways, and the addition of special live streamed final tables played at the HyperX Arena in Las Vegas has been one of the main ways in which the Tour has expanded its media reach.

The final six players in the WPT Choctaw event will join those from WPT SHRPS in Vegas this May, where they will take turns playing their final tables and crowning WPT champions.

The WPT Choctaw final table will play down on May 30, coinciding with the start of the World Series of Poker, which means most of the players will be looking to travel out to Las Vegas to begin with.

All final table action will be available in real time (with a delay) on WPT media channels, giving us direct insight into the thought processes of some of the very best poker players in the world.

If you are a fan or student of tournament poker, make sure not to forget to tune into the WPT Choctaw final table later this month, as it is guaranteed to bring some top-level Texas Hold’em Poker and involve some of the best tournament players out there.

WPT Welcomes the Ladies for the Bouquet Ladies Championship

WPT Choctaw Championship starts on May 3 and will feature another Day 1 flight on May 4, the same day that will see the $500 Bouquet Ladies Championship kick-off.

The Ladies Championship will be the perfect way for all the female players who make their way to Durant, along with all the locals, to get into the action at a more affordable price and in spirit of good fun and camaraderie.

With this event, WPT will continue its practice of promoting poker with the fairer sex, as another lady will be guaranteed a piece of WPT silverware at the Choctaw festival.

WPT Continues Promotion of Poker among the Ladies

The event is expected to see dozens of the best female players from across America enter the player pool, making it a highly competitive and very entertaining event.

For all the ladies starting out in poker, the Bouquet Ladies Championship will present a unique opportunity to play a major poker tournament in a slightly more comfortable gameplay environment with feminine energy dominating the space.

WPT Continues Its World Traversing in 2024

2024 has been an amazing year for WPT, with the Main Tour alone already completing four and now playing out the fifth festival of the year in just four months.

The Tour has already visited Cambodia, and several US stops, along with the WPT Voyage event which took players to high seas to play poker in international waters.

Following the completion of the traditional WPT Choctaw festival, WPT will move on to Montreal and Macau over the next couple of months, bringing the unique flavor of the world’s most comprehensive poker tour to all parts of the world.

Before the year is over, we will see further Main Tour events in Australia and the US, while the WPT Alpha8 Trifecta will bring unique high roller action to Las Vegas.

On top of that, a range of WPT Prime events are also scheduled, with players in Italy, UK, Lichtenstein, France, and Taiwan all getting an opportunity to play WPT events on their home soil.

All fans of WPT will get a chance to experience at least one WPT festival close to their homes before the end of 2024, as the Tour looks to make this the most successful year in its history.
