One of the most exciting WSOP Main Event final tables in history has just played out, and it delivered every bit of excitement we were hoping for.
Two big stories were that of Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi, who was coming in strong off of his win in the Poker Players Championship, and Leo Margets, the first woman to make the Main Event final table in three decades.
In the end, it was “The Grinder” running away with the title, and his success was further crowned by the surprise introduction into the Poker Hall of Fame.
But there were seven other stories at the final table, each of them unique in its own way. One of them belonged to Luka Bojovic, a friend of the rapidly growing crypto poker site CoinPoker.
Bojovic came into the final table as a middling stack, starting with 51,000,000 in chips. By the time it was all said and done, he managed to ladder several spots without playing many hands at all, finishing in fifth place and pocketing $2,400,000.

Bojovic’s Quiet Final Table Performance
Tournament poker has many facets to it. Making the most out of your final table appearances isn’t always about blasting away and risking your tournament life every few hands.
This high-variance approach can pay off, of course, as it did for “The Grinder,” who, after having one of the biggest rollercoaster experiences in the history of Main Events, managed to come out on top.
However, there is certainly something to be said about a patient and methodical approach that Luka Bojovic, the man donning the CoinPoker patch, adhered to.
The final table started fast and furious, with two players eliminated very quickly. With their exits, Bojovic laddered two spots and earned himself an extra $500,000 without playing a hand.
To be fair, Luka wasn’t getting dealt many strong poker hands to begin with, but in a couple of marginal spots, he opted for a lower-variance route and mucked before the flop. He did get involved in a blind vs. blind confrontation at one point, losing some of his chips, but that was the only time he got out of line.
This resulted in him seeing Leo Margets bust in seventh, followed by Adam Hendrix in sixth. With that, Bojovic locked up $2.4 million without ever being at risk for his tournament life.
Of course, he did eventually have to try and chip up, and he found a perfect spot for it, picking up AK against Kenny Hallaert’s AJ. Unfortunately, a Jack on the turn ended Bojovic’s Main Event run.
A Major Career Cornerstone
Going into the Main Event final table, the player originally from Serbia but now living and working in Austria had just over $700,000 in live tournament winnings.
Bojovic added $2.4 million to his tally, bringing his total to over $3,000,000, which is an impressive feat, to say the least, especially for someone who has a day job (working as a medical doctor) and doesn’t play poker full time.
While Luka didn’t get much help from the deck on his final table journey, he did have a lot of support coming from his rail. Plus, his calm and relaxed attitude probably helped, as Bojovic didn’t let his nerves get the better of him, despite this being by far the biggest moment of his career.
With this unexpected boost to his bankroll, it’s likely we’ll see Luka Bojovic playing more live events in the coming period, proudly donning the CoinPoker patch, which certainly brought him some luck this summer!
