A belly buster is a poker phrase for an inside straight draw. This is a straight draw that can only be completed by one specific card. It’s also commonly called a gutshot or gutshot straight draw.
Belly Buster Poker Example:
Let’s say that you have a J T hand, and the flop produces A K 6 on the board. You have a belly buster, as only the queen will help you make a straight. This means you have four outs to get a queen on the turn or the river.
