Chip Leader

Chip leader is a poker term used in tournaments to refer to a player who has the most chips. This phrase isn’t used in cash games, as players who have a lot of chips in poker cash games are said to have a “deep stack”.

Chip Leader Poker Example:

When you’re the chip leader, you are closer to winning the poker tournament than any other player. Being a chip leader can be very advantageous, especially near the bubble, as players will be more careful when betting against you due to the size of your chip stack.
