Crying Call

A crying call in poker is when a player calls the bet despite not being confident in their hand and knowing they will probably lose. This poker term is mostly used to refer to calls made on the last betting round.

Crying Call Poker Example:

Let’s say that you have a K 2 hand, and the board after the river reads Q 6 5 4 3. In all probability, another player will have a better straight, but you cannot resist calling their bet. This is called a crying call.
