A flat call in poker is a specific type of call made even though an opponent could have expected a raise. It’s also known as a smooth call.  

Flat Call Poker Example:

For instance, you can flat call either because you don’t have a sufficiently strong hand or are slowplaying your hand and are planning to raise later.
