A free card in poker is a card a player can see without having to call a bet and commit any additional chips. Getting a free card can be used in a favorable context, while giving away a free card is considered disadvantageous.

Free Card Poker Example:

Let’s say that there are six players in the game, and every player checks on the flop. Since no one has to put any additional money into the pot, everyone gets to see a free card. This can be especially advantageous for players with a drawing hand.
