Post

A post in poker is when a player makes a forced bet, such as a blind or ante. In other words, posting is placing a bet before a deal. Posting blinds and antes facilitates action and gives players an incentive to bet.

Post Poker Example:

For example, you’re playing a $4/$8 poker game that uses an ante. With these blinds, all players will be asked to post a $1 ante prior to the deal.
