Stealing in poker is raising with the intention to make the opponent fold their hand. Often, stealing is used in the context of bluffing.

Steal Poker Example:

For example, a player might raise before the showdown to make their opponent fold, and steal the pot without even having to show their hand. Sometimes, players in late position can try to steal the blinds by raising in hopes that other players won’t defend so that they can steal the blinds unopposed.
