Swap

A swap in poker is a mutual agreement between players to give each other a certain percentage of each other’s tournament winnings. It’s a popular practice among poker players, as it helps reduce the variance during a poker tournament.

Swap Poker Example:

You and a close friend agree to give each other 10% of any tournament winnings either of you achieves. After a short run, you are knocked out of the tournament. Your friend finishes in the money and wins a huge prize of $100,000. As they agreed to give you 10% of their winnings, you will be entitled to $10,000.
