All fans of non-Hold’em games with limited bankrolls at their disposals have something to look forward to as Cardplayer Lifestyle has announced that its (now staple) Mixed Game festival will be coming back to Las Vegas this November!
This will be the ninth iteration of the Mixed Game Festival, and a few nice surprises will add to the hype and the overall value of the event.
Running November 3 – 7, the Mixed Game Festival IX will be held at Resorts World in Las Vegas, alongside the PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT). The NAPT is the event's official partner, which means some nice additional prizes will be added as well.
Bring On the Tournament Action
All fans of mixed game tournaments will be thrilled that this time around, there will be not one, not two, but three tournaments during the five-day period.
Two of these tournaments will feature a buy-in of $550, but there is also an event targeting those players with deeper pockets, rocking a $5,300 admission fee. One tournament will feature the H.E.R.O.S. mix, while the other two will be played in the 8-Game format.
During the Mixed Game Festival, two seats to $550 events will be given away to the players participating in the cash game action, so there are a couple of added reasons to get involved.
Even More Reasons to Celebrate
As luck would have it, this year’s event dates coincide with the 43rd birthday of Robbie Strazynski, the owner of the Cardplayer Lifestyle brand and the creator of the Mixed Game Festival. So, the event will open with a special birthday bash on November 3 to kick off the proceedings.
In addition to the three tournaments, players will enjoy plenty of cash game action, with stakes starting at $4/$8 and going up to $20/$40. The cash games will be held at the permanent 30-table poker room at Resorts World, while the tournament area has been prepared on the second floor.
By playing in cash games, players will earn entries for the random draw, awarding two $550 tournament tickets. For every hour played from November 3 – 6, regardless of the stakes, players will receive one draw entry.
The draw will take place on the evening of November 6,, and if their name is drawn, the winners must be at the location to claim the prize.
A Poker Experience to Remember
Although there are many details yet to be finalized, it is certain that those joining the action at the Mixed Game Festival IX will get to rub elbows with PokerStars ambassadors. There will be more promotions and giveaways added to the mix and revealed in due time.
Over its nine iterations, the event has had different sponsors, but PokerStars has been the most frequent and consistent one. The festival's affiliation with the legendary North American Poker Tour certainly adds to its appeal.
As is becoming customary, the Cardplayer Lifestyle blog will also publish the Player of the Day feature, in which one of the participants is given the spotlight and becomes a star for the day. This aligns perfectly with the spirit of the event.
All in all, the Mixed Game Festival IX is not the one to miss if you dabble in non-Hold’em variants, and the fact that it takes place as a part of the NAPT means you get the best of both worlds. So, what’s not to like about it taking place in Las Vegas?
