The 2024 WSOP is behind us and it’s been one for the history books. We had a chance to enjoy hundreds of hours of content during the Series itself, and new content just keeps on coming.
888poker just released the first episode of a new docuseries on its YouTube channel, revolving around the experience its team of Ambassadors had at this year’s WSOP Main Event.
The docuseries follows the experience of 888poker Ambassadors Vivian Saliba and Lucia Navarro, the operator’s Cultural Ambassador Jack Maate, and Stream Team members Aaron Barone and Nicholas Eastwood at the 2024 WSOP Main Event.
The new mini-series is guaranteed to provide some perspective for poker players around the world who are hoping to make their way to Las Vegas and play in the Main Event themselves in the years to come, as the five 888poker representatives give us an insight into the full experience from the flight out to Las Vegas to the aftermath of the event.
Saliba and Navarro Grinding in Las Vegas
For the two female members of Team 888poker out in Las Vegas, the 2024 WSOP was another day at the office, as both are seasoned professionals with heaps of live poker experience.
With nearly a million dollars in live tournament earnings, Brazilian Vivian Saliba has been playing live poker for nearly a decade and recorded her first live WSOP cash at the 2017 WSOP.
Since then, Vivian has had success at both the WSOP and WSOPE, her deepest run being a 4th place finish fittingly coming in the $888 NLH Crazy Eights tournament in 2019, which paid over $300,000.
Spaniard Lucia Navarro is nearly as seasoned as her Brazilian counterpart, as she too has been attending the WSOP for close to a decade with slightly more limited results.
Navarro came into the 2024 WSOP with close to $400,000 in tournament winnings and big dreams and started the summer on a high note, coming 5th in a Moneymaker Tour event just days before her WSOP Main Event performance.
Barone and Eastwood Taking to the Live Streets
Nicholas Eastwood and Aaron Barone are both exceptional poker players in their own right, but are both primarily only poker players with vast experience playing on the internet.
While both came into the 2024 WSOP with some live tournament experience, neither has ever had a truly deep run in a WSOP event, with Eastwood coming the closest after his 2022 run in the Main Event, where he was able to cash for $15,000.
The excitement was even greater for Barone and Eastwood, for whom the trip to Las Vegas presented a somewhat rare opportunity to go and play live poker with some of the best players in the world.
Joining the four poker professionals was Jack Dean, otherwise known as JaackMaate, 888poker’s Cultural Ambassador, who joined the Team in 2022.
The well-known YouTuber and podcaster from Norwich went to the WSOP with minimal experience and admitted in the first video he made that he was transitioning from playing a pub league in his hometown to the biggest poker tournament in the world.
Follow 888 Pros on Their Journey
Making a deep run in the WSOP Main Event and advancing through the numerous days of the tournament is the greatest dream of countless poker players around the world.
With 888poker’s newest docuseries, we will have a chance to follow the journey of five players, each with a different background and experience level, as each hopes to make a deep run in the 2024 Main Event.
Both Saliba and Navarro have a lot to show off, as both are seasoned pros with a lot of experience in playing large-field live events of Main Event’s caliber.
On the other hand, following the transition of the two online pros into the live streets will be extremely fun, as both bring lots of skills but less live experience than their female counterparts to the table.
Finally, the operator’s Cultural Ambassador looks to bring his limited poker experience and mix it with tons of personality to try and make a deep run in an event where reading cards is not the only talent that helps.
Team 888 Makes it Out to Las Vegas
The first episode of 888poker’s newest docuseries did not show us any insight into the actual event, as players created quick clips of themselves traveling out to Las Vegas.
For thousands of players in it, the Main Event experience starts days before the cards are in the air, as they must first make the trans-Atlantic journey to get to Las Vegas in the first place.
The same was true for all five players in 888poker’s group, who came to Vegas from Europe and Brazil, and were forced to face long flights and jet-lag before they could participate in poker’s biggest festival.
Despite the flights being long and the experience tiresome to begin with, all five demonstrated a lot of excitement, which is only natural for poker players going to play in the WSOP Main Event.
In the weeks to come, we will have an opportunity to see how each of them did at the WSOP, but also hear more about their ups and downs from their own mouths.
For all true poker fans, the new 888poker docuseries is guaranteed to be one of the most entertaining content series this summer, and it all comes is short-form and easily digestible episodes you can watch anytime.
Check out the first episode right here and remember to stay tuned for more episodes at 888poker’s YouTube channel as they come.
