This week, 888poker welcomes two new members to its popular StreamTeam, following the successful completion of the Stream On competition.
The competition, which started on March 16, concluded with two winners being named instead of the original plan of one, as two players simply impressed the judges too much to pass up on.
Dave “Wursthandz” Brady from the UK and Darius “KomodoDragonJesus” Wajda from Canada were the two fortunate winners, and they will be given a chance to do what they do best as part of one of the top streaming teams in the world from this point forward.
The two winners will be given a chance to play poker under a streaming contract from 888poker for a full year, starting shortly.
This means they will get a chance to greatly expand their audiences, show their skills to new fans, and create a name for themselves in the poker community.
Moving forward, we are likely to see both Wajda and Brady stream quite a bit more, as they move forward as part of the StreamTeam.
Amazing Opportunity for Poker Streamers
There are many poker streamers out there, but the truth is many of them have a hard time in creating a name for themselves or monetizing their streaming time in any way.
888poker gave everyone a chance to get something in return for their streaming time, as all 63 players who took part in the Stream On competition were awarded tournament tickets for every four hours or more then spent on stream each week.
The competition took four weeks in total, which meant every player had a chance to win up to $436 in tournament tickets regardless of their results or their viewership.
At the end of the day, the players were highly incentivized to do well and be as entertaining as possible, as a streaming contract was on the line.
When it was all said and done, one contract turned into two, as 888poker decided there was more value in hiring new StreamTeam members than they had originally foreseen.

Brady and Wajda Welcomed Aboard
The two new StreamTeam members were fittingly announced by David Tuchman during a live stream on 888pokerTV official Twitch channel.
Both players were clearly over the moon and excited to join a team they have been watching for a long time, which they will now have a chance to create content for.
Speaking on the stream, Brady commented: “I'm delighted to be joining the 888poker StreamTeam. It really is an honour to be joining such a brilliant lineup of talented streamers, and I'm beyond happy to have been chosen as one of the winners of the competition.”
“I'd like to thank the community who were amazing in their support from start to finish of the competition, and I hope I can do justice to them!”
Wajda joined just moments later and expressed very similar sentiments: “I'm thrilled to be joining the 888poker StreamTeam. When I joined Stream On, I wasn't sure what to expect. As the competition progressed, I got to know the team and their communities.”
“It quickly turned into one of the most fun months of poker I've ever had, and I can't wait to see what comes next.”
The two streamers will no doubt be welcomed by 888poker’s streaming team over the next few weeks, as they work full-time streaming into their schedules and start thriving as part of the network.
Dave Brady Looking for Tournament Success
Dave “Wursthandz” Brady joined the Stream On competition without clear expectations, as he was more or less a casual tournament poker player when he did so.
He had invested a lot of time into improving as a poker player and made several final tables in $109 events he had qualified for previously but did not have any major success just yet.
However, it is clear that Brady has what it takes to succeed in the tournament arena, and his entertaining streaming style has made him a fan favorite immediately.
Dave has poker friends from all over the world as part of his circle, and will be banking on those friends as support as he moves forward as part of the StreamTeam.
The 34 year old player from Ashton, Kent, will be putting his firefighting career on hold as he looks to see if he has what it takes to make it as a full time poker player and streamer.
Wajda Set to Move Up the Stakes
Unlike Brady, Darius “KomodoDragonJesus” Wajda is primarily a cash game player, and is a full-time poker professional from Manitoba, Canada.
Same age as his colleague, Wajda turned pro in 2018 and abandoned his career as an aerospace engineer to play poker, a decision that now seems to be panning out.
Darius has been a part-time streamer since 2014, but never really took it too seriously until the Stream On competition gave him a reason to do so.
Now, KomodoDragonJesus will probably be looking to play as much as possible and potentially move up the stakes, leaving his standard comfort zone of NL200 – NL500 and potentially trying some tougher games at higher stakes.
More Opportunities in the Future
While the Stream On competition was the first of its kind organized by 888poker, it is not likely to be the last.
If you are a poker streamer yourself, doing more work to expand your channel and audience is probably a good idea, as 888poker is always on the lookout for talents.
Whether by virtue of a competition like this one, or simply by showing off your qualities as a poker streamer, you could become the next member of the StreamTeam.
In the meantime, make sure to tune into the streams by the two new StreamTeam members, pick up some new skills along the way, and enjoy watching these two highly entertaining players play their favorite games for the next 12 months.
