There is still time to claim your seat in the final day of PartyPoker’s Big Quarter tournament, but the time to act is now! With the grand finale taking place on May 5, you only have a few more days left to give it a try.
In case you’ve missed it, Big Quarter is an interesting concept put together by PartyPoker. This is a single tournament with $200,000 guaranteed, with a buy-in of just $11.
To meet the guarantee and give players plenty of opportunity to get involved, the operator has spread the tournament over the course of 90 days. There have been dozens of Day 1 flights over this period, taking place on Wednesdays or Sundays.

Day 1s Running Around the Clock
Well over a thousand players have already secured their seat in the final day taking place on Sunday, May 5. The final day will play down to 24 players. The tournament will then pause and resume on May 6 to find the winner.
If you aren’t in the group of those who already have their seat secured for the May 5 finale, the good news is that there are still quite a few opportunities to do so.
There are more than 20 Big Quarter Day 1 flights scheduled in PartyPoker client between today and May 5. The buy-in is $11, and you’re allowed one reentry per flight, with late registration available for the first ten levels.
Day 1 flights are structured so that 10% of the starting field progresses to Day 2. Once the tournament gets down to that final 10%, the game will pause, and you’ll be assigned a seat for Day 2 on May 5, carrying over your chip stack.
A Lot of Value to Be Had
At the time of writing this, some 1,300 players have secured their seat in Day 2 and collected prizes stand at just over $140,000. This means that there is a good chance that the tournament might overlay, making it even more valuable.
The Big Quarter is also a PKO event, which means that eliminating players will result in some cash added straight to your balance.
PartyPoker estimates that the event winner will take home around $20,000 (including bounties), which is certainly a very nice return on a $11 investment.
If this sounds like a good deal, Day 1 flights kick off every day around 15:00 CEST and continue throughout the afternoon and the evening. You can play as many of these as you like, and you can fire up several Day flights simultaneously.
As is usually the case with these types of events, if you get through to Day 2 more than once, you’ll get to keep your largest stack.
The Big Quarter event may be the perfect way to warm up for the onslaught of MTT action in May. As it wraps up, you’ll have plenty of choice available, with the Spring Festival kicking off over at WPT Global and the legendary SCOOP beginning at PokerStars.
