The F1 Grand Prix is back to Las Vegas this weekend for its second year in a row and promising a big spectacle. Running alongside it is the Big Deal for One Drop event at the Resorts World, a charitable event put together by the World Poker Tour Foundation and the One Drop Foundation.

The event kicks off today (Friday, Nov 12) at 12 PM local time, and it is hosted by Guy Laliberté, a founder of Cirque de Soleil and One Drop. Although Laliberté hasn’t been very active in poker circles lately, he’ll be dusting off his poker gear for this $10k charitable event.

All proceeds from the tournament will go towards the One Drop Foundation, while winners will receive money-can’t-buy experiences and get a chance to rub elbows with big-name poker pros, F1 personalities, and several celebrities who confirmed their participation in the tournament.

Poker Pros Lining Up to Show Their Support

With only hours left before cards are in the air, the list of confirmed participants for the 2024 Big Deal for One drop event at the Resorts World in Las Vegas is very impressive.

One of the poker pros in attendance will be Antonio “The Magician” Esfandiari. Antonio has had many accomplishments over the course of his career, but winning the first-ever $1,000,000 Big One for One Drop event certainly tops the list.

Phil Hellmuth, probably the best-known name in poker and the man who holds an absolute record in terms of WSOP bracelets won will be on the floor as well, taking on the role of the MC for the event.

Joining Phil and Antonio are Jeff Gross and Maria Ho, rounding up the “pro” presence at the tables. An opportunity to play against these legends of the game is a part of the experience at the Big Deal for One Drop, but it’s just the beginning.

Famous F1 Personalities Racing to the Finish Line

With Formula 1 back in town, the Big Deal for One Drop will also see a number of personalities from the world’s fastest circus.

Headlining the lineup of F1 personalities is David Coulthard, a former F1 driver who had an impressive career, winning 13 Grands Prix over the course of 15 seasons.

Alex Wurz, another former F1 racer from Austria will grace guests and tournament participants with his presence as well, alongside Otmar Szafnaeur and Martin Brundle.

Also joining the action is Paul Oz, a man who’s earned his claim to fame as an F1 sculptor and painter, creating unique and interesting artwork that captures the attention of racing aficionados across the globe.

Promising a Day to Remember

To participate in the event, players will need to put aside $10,000, but their buy-in will go towards a worthwhile cause.

The One Drop Foundation focuses on providing people worldwide with access to safe and sustainable water, and together with the WPT Foundation, they have raised in excess of $75,000,000 towards these valiant efforts.

In addition to the opportunity to play poker against legends of the game and F1 giants, those who run deep in the tournament will have a shot at winning one-of-a-kind, money-can’t-buy experiences. These include:

  • VIP packages to Grand Prix in Monaco, Singapore, and Montreal
  • Helmeted portrait of the F1 legend Michael Schumacher by Paul Oz
  • Dos Caras hand-numbered Gran Embajador Tequila
  • Steve Aoki DJ booth experience

The Big Deal for One Drop event kicks off at 12 PM, and the early start will ensure that all participants will have plenty of time to get ready for the excitement of the big race tonight and the Big Deal for One Drop after party taking place at the Zouk nightclub.
