Card Casino played host to the festival, which attracted players from left and right, eager to join the action and battle it out at the green felt.

The Bratislava Poker Festival took place July 18 – 23, featuring a variety of affordable events, with buy-ins as low as €150.

Of course, the Main Event was the star of the show. With a buy-in of just €500, multiple starting flights, and a massive guarantee of €500,000, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that it would be a big one.

And, sure enough, the tournament handsomely exceeded its initial guarantee, making it a big success for the organizers.

Six Figures for the Winner

Joining forces with Card Casino and Irish Poker Tour, PartyPoker was able to create an electrifying event that piqued the players’ interest. This was most evident in the Main Event, which ended up attracting 1,113 entries to bring the final prize pool to €542,588, almost 10% above the original guarantee.

There were six Day 1 flights, allowing all interested players to have their shot, and by the time the registration was done, the organizers had every reason to be content.

All this meant that the eventual winner had a lot to look forward to as well, as the first-place prize was set at €120,000. As it turned out, the champion took home a bit less after a final table deal, but it was still six figures, which is nothing to sneeze at in a €500 tournament.

When the play got to the heads-up stage, the remaining two players, Alexandros Dimogiorgis and Dillan Lee Bruce agreed to an almost equal chop, leaving €10k on the side to play for. By the end, it was Dimogiorgis who emerged victorious for a total score of €102,000, while Bruce took home €93,000.

Everybody else who made it to the final table locked up five-figure scores as well, so the Main Event was a big success for the players and organizers alike.

Next Stop – Malta

Party Poker is determined to bring back a full schedule of live tournaments, and they’ll only be encouraged by the impressive turnout in Slovakia’s capital. It is a clear signal that players are thirsty for affordable tournament action and will take it wherever they can find it.

With Bratislava now in the rearview mirror, PartyPoker will turn its attention to Malta. The Mediterranean island will play host to PartyPoker MILLIONS, taking place September 23 – October 3.

The €550 Grand Prix event is set to offer a cool €1,000,000 guarantee – double that in Bratislava, with virtually the same buy-in, so it’s safe to assume there will be a lot of interest.

Players can even qualify via online poker satellites and even play their Day 1 online in August and September, which makes everything even more convenient. There is no reason to believe that the Malta Grand Prix will not smash its guarantee despite it being a rather large number.

Players’ experiences from Bratislava have been very positive as PartyPoker knows how to throw an event that everyone will enjoy. But, if you missed that one, Malta is just around the corner, and with so many different ways to get there at a big discount, why not give it a
