Fire bet craps is a side bet that pays the shooter based on the individual points established and won. Players wager that the shooter will establish and make at least 4 points before crapping out.
It is an uncommon multi-roll bet with large payouts and cannot be found at most casinos. This bet is quite complicated and is mostly used by experienced craps players who have mastered craps strategy. Here is how a fire bet works:
- A player tells the dealer they want to make a fire bet.
- Come out roll wins (7 and 11) or losses (2, 3, and 12) do not affect the fire bet.
- Once the first point is established, the fire bet becomes active.
- If the shooter makes the first point, a fire disk is placed on that number.
- If the shooter makes another point, a second fire disk is placed on that number. This process is repeated for additional points the shooter makes.
- If a point that has been established prior is reestablished, then the dealer does nothing (only unique points count).
- If the shooter craps out with three or less fire disks placed then the bet loses.
- If there are between 4 to 6 disks before the shooter craps out then the player gets paid according to the paytable.
There are different variations of the fire bet paytable used at casinos. Here are the payouts for three common paytables:
