If you have ever wondered how many betting positions are there in Pai Gow poker, the answer is that the minimum number is 2, and the maximum number is 7. This includes six players and a player-dealer position. In Pai Gow, betting positions are assigned from 1 to 7, with the banker always being in the number 1 position. Other numbers are assigned counterclockwise around the Pai Gow table.
Each player plays for themselves against the dealer. It’s not possible to bet on another player’s hand. Players receive 7 cards, creating a five-card hand and a two-card hand. In order to win, both hands must beat the dealer’s hands. If only one of their hands is better than the dealer’s, the result is a push. If both hands are weaker than what the dealer is showing, the player loses their bet.
