Today marks a historic day for online poker in the United States as WSOP.com has officially rebranded as WSOP Online. In addition to the new name and improved software functionalities, this new network combines players from Michigan, New Jersey, and Nevada into a single player pool.
This is a huge step for WSOP Online and US online poker in general, as this is the first time that any platform has introduced shared liquidity across three regulated states.
WSOP has combined NJ and NV players for a while now. Michigan joined the MSIGA back in 2022, and PokerStars was the first operator to take advantage of this opportunity combining its Michigan and New Jersey platforms.
WSOP, however, is the only operator in Nevada, and while the company took its time bringing Michigan into the fold, the wait is finally over. All-new WSOP Online now spreads across three jurisdictions, with the merger officially happening on May 27.
Improved Software, Bigger Prizes, and Better Promos
This is an important development for US players in many ways. First of all, those in New Jersey and Nevada will finally get access to the new software, which MI players have had the opportunity to enjoy for some time now.
Some of the improved functionalities include the ability to play up to four tables on a mobile device, in-app gift drops, and access to popular Mystery Bounty tournaments.
Furthermore, with the combined player pools, WSOP Online will be able to offer more generous promotions and tournaments with bigger guarantees.
As mentioned, the transition will officially happen on May 27. Players in Nevada and New Jersey can continue playing on old servers until then.
To join the new platform, existing players from these two states can take advantage of the pre-registration process. During this process, they’ll create a username on the new platform, linking it back to their old account.
Once the pre-registration is complete, all player’s balances, points, and tournament tickets will be moved to the new account within 72 hours of the new platform launching.
After May 27, when the new platform goes live, existing players yet to complete the process of moving accounts will be prompted to download the new WSOP Online client.
To celebrate this huge milestone, WSOP Online will also be hosting a big $100,000 freeroll for all players who make a real money deposit from May 28 to June 29.
An Epic Online Bracelet Schedule
Together with the news on merging player pools, WSOP Online has also released the full schedule for online bracelet events this summer. Not surprisingly, the operator pulled all the stops, creating the most epic schedule to date.
Players at the new WSOP Online platform will get to compete for a total of 30 bracelets this summer, with events running June 1 – July 21. Buy-ins start at $333 and go up to $10,000, offering opportunities for all players and all bankrolls.
Online bracelet tournaments will be taking place every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. Several events will feature live final tables, including all tournaments with the “high roller” designation, and the $10,000 WSOP Online Championship event.
When it comes to Pennsylvania, the state still remains outside of the MSIGA, so players will still have to wait some more to enjoy fruits of the share liquidity. That said, there will be seven WSOP Online bracelet events up for grabs in the state.
Of course, WSOP Online will also feature a variety of satellites for live bracelet events and numerous options for players to qualify for the 2024 Main Event. Qualifiers will be available for as little as $1, giving everyone a shot at making their poker dream a reality.
