James “SplitSuit” Sweeney owns the SplitSuit Poker platform. He founded SplitSuit Poker in 2008 with the goal of helping players learn to play better poker. During his early poker days, James picked the nickname “SplitSuit” when creating his online account on the TwoPlusTwo poker forum, and this moniker later stuck with his poker career and, eventually, his poker coaching website.

During his senior year of college, James Sweeney started coaching poker players and quickly transitioned into a player/coach career right after graduation. He soon founded SplitSuit, and the rest is history.

In 2016, Sweeney released The Hand Reading Lab and published his first poker workbook. In 2017, he published another two other books. 2020 was Sweeney’s most productive year on SplitSuit, as he released several books and courses. That said, his most popular book to date is Optimizing Ace King, which he co-authored in 2018 with Adam Jones, another prolific online poker player.

In addition to all of these successes with SplitSuit Poker, Sweeney also found the time to be a significant contributor to the creation of Red Chip Poker. Along with three other poker players, he founded this poker training site, where he remains active as the business’ CEO.
