The World Poker Tour continues to bring great news for players, as its expanded schedule for the 2024 season now includes three Alpha8 High Roller, conveniently dubbed the WPT Alpha8 Trifecta.

The events will be played as part of the popular Wynn Summer Classic tournament series, which kicks off May 22, with the Alpha8 events set for:

  • June 25 – 26
  • July 3 – 4
  • July 10 – 11

The three $25k High Roller events will be among the highlights of the popular festival, which will run alongside the WSOP and offer players plenty of alternative choices and a chance to play for more than $37 million in guaranteed prizes at one of the most luxurious venues in all of Las Vegas.

The Alpha8 Brand Is Coming Back to the Wynn

The Alpha8 brand made a resurgence last year, as a total of four Alpha8 events were played as part of the yearly WPT schedule.

Those saw notable poker players like Jonathan Jaffe, Ren Lin, Steve O’Dwyer, and Bin Weng take down the titles and six-figure scores after defeating star-studded fields.

This year, we can expect the fields to be equally as tough, as all the world’s best players will be in Vegas during the WPT Alpha8 Trifecta, and we expect many of them will be attracted to the Wynn.

WPT CEO Adam Pliska commented: “Last year, WPT witnessed a grand resurgence of the Alpha8 brand, which all began with a successful summer event at Wynn Las Vegas”

“We are taking it a step further this time around by hosting three Alpha8 high rollers at this amazing venue.”

In addition to the regular prize pools, which will reach into the millions, the WPT Alpha8 Trifecta will also come with a leaderboard, tracking the results of players across the three events.

The eight players with the highest scores across the Trifecta will get a free entry into the WPT World Championship event at the Wynn this December, worth $10,400 each.

While this may not be a huge rewards for players playing the $25k High Rollers, as added $10k for doing well across the WPT Alpha8 Trifecta may be just the nudge some of them need to take part in these unique events.

Amazing Summer Schedule at the Wynn

The Wynn is one of the most luxurious resorts in all of Las Vegas and has been one of the main stops for poker players in the Sin City in recent years.

This year, the casino decided to go above and beyond with their Wynn Poker Classic and ensure that players have plenty of reason to visit the Wynn poker room and tournament halls during the hot summer months.

Starting May 22, the Wynn Poker Classic will feature over $37,000,000 in guaranteed prize pools across 98 events, with buyins ranging from just $400 to $25,000.

Some of the highlights of the series include the $600 NLH event with a $300k guarantee at the start of the series, $1,100 NLH event with a $2 million guarantee, the $1,600 Century NLH PKO with a $2.5 million guarantee, and the $10k Wynn Summer Championship with a $10 million prize pool.

These are only a few of the many exciting poker events you will get a chance to play across May, June, and July, as the Wynn offers a great alternative to WSOP for all the players who may want to avoid the massive lines at the Paris and Horseshoe.

As usual, the Wynn Poker Classic will include events across different poker game types and disciplines, with mixed games, PKOs, mystery bounty, and other formats all included in the schedule.

WPT Comes Back to the Wynn in December

The Wynn has become one of the main WPT partners in recent years, and the Alpha8 Trifecta won’t be the only WPT events to play out at the Wynn this year.

Once again, the Wynn will play host to the spectacular year-ending WPT World Championship in December, which is guaranteed to be one of the biggest poker events of the year.

The WPT ambassadors have not come out with any news on this year’s guarantee, but if previous editions are anything to go by, there is no doubt that the WPT World Championship will be one of the finest poker tournaments in 2024.

While the exact dates and details are not yet known, WPT is already giving away seats to the event via multiple venues, including the Alpha8 Trifecta leaderboard, demonstrating the importance of the event and WPT’s desire to host the best possible version of the tournament.
