WPT Global has announced the first of its four annual major series, the 2024 Spring Festival. Coming on the heels of the Warm Up festival, the upcoming series will feature $7,000,000 in guaranteed prizes and many promotions players can look forward to.
The Spring Festival at WPT Global will kick off on May 5, and it will last for a full three weeks, wrapping up on May 26. Headlining the Festival is the $220 Championship Event that comes with a huge promise of $500,000.
However, there is another major tournament players can look forward to, as the operator will host a $3,500 WPT Championship event. In addition to claiming the lion’s share of the $1,000,000 prize pool, the winner will claim the official title of a WPT champion, adding their name to a very exclusive and prestigious list.
Big Guarantees & 100% Rakeback
For the last couple of months, WPT Global has been very generous with tournament players, giving all the rake generated through MTTs back to the community.
It seems the operator is set to continue this practice during the upcoming Spring Festival, as 100% of rake will be returned. This time around, the distribution will be spread across several different promotions:
- $100,000 goes to the Spring Festival Leaderboard
- $50,000 to the Champion of Champions Freeroll (open to all event winners)
- The remaining rake is split across three freerolls: Bronze, Silver, and Gold
When it comes to tournaments and guarantees, the full schedule for the Spring Festival is not out just yet. However, we already know about three highlight events, which will feature over $1.5 million in guarantees on their own:
- $220 Spring Festival Championship – $500,000 guaranteed
- $22 Mini Championship – $150,000 guaranteed
- $3,500 WPT Championship – $1,000,000 guaranteed + a WPT title for the winner
Of course, all tournaments will count toward the WPT Global Player of the Year race, the winner of which will lock up $100,000 worth of prizes, including entries to four main World Poker Tour Championship events.
Big Opportunities for Everyone
With $7,000,000 in guarantees and some of the softest player fields you’ll find in online poker these days, the WPT Global Spring Festival represents an excellent opportunity to boost your bankroll.
While all the schedule details are still being worked out, it is safe to assume there will be tournaments to fit every pocket, with buy-ins probably starting at around $5.50 and plenty of action in the $20 – $50 region.
Plus, there will be many satellites running around the clock on the app, giving you a chance to win your seat in the events that might be out of your usual buy-in range.
Your grind will be rewarded even if you don’t get any big scores during the series, as you’ll qualify for one of the three rakeback freerolls depending on the total number of tournaments played.
You’ll need to play at least 25 events to qualify for Bronze, 50 for Silver, and 100+ to enter the Gold freeroll event. With a huge chunk of all rake gathered during the Spring Festival thrown into these events, we expect they’ll have prize pools well worth fighting for.
Unique Shot at a WPT Title
Claiming the title of a World Poker Tour champion and joining the elite list of winners is something many players, professional and amateur alike, dream about.
During the upcoming Festival, WPT Global will provide a unique opportunity for you to claim this title playing from the comfort of your living room. The special $3,500 WPT Championship event comes with a promise of $1,000,000 and the official champion title for the winner.
It goes without saying that paying $3,500 for a single tournament is a tall order, especially for those players who play for fun. The good news is that there’ll be numerous qualifiers running on the poker app, allowing you to build your way up the ladder and secure a seat at a big discount.
All in all, May is shaping up to be the most exciting month of the year so far for tournament grinders, and you should definitely add WPT Global to your rotation. With big prizes, soft fields, and a prestigious WPT title up for grabs, what more could you possibly ask for?
