We are now well into another World Poker Tour season, and the second Main Tour event of the year is set to kick off in California in a couple of weeks.

Following the successful inaugural WPT Cambodia festival and two WPT Prime stops in Aix-en-Provance and Amsterdam, the Main Tour is now headed to Lincoln, California, for another edition of the popular WPT Rolling Thunder.

The action is already underway at the Thunder Valley Casino Resort, with a series of low buy-in events and significant guarantees on the docket every day until the start of the Championship.

Whether you are looking to play in the WPT Rolling Thunder Championship, or enter the preliminary events and get some action in before the start, keep reading and find out everything about the next big WPT festival.

Major WPT Championship Event on the Horizon

WPT Rolling Thunder has been a part of the WPT calendar since 2014 and has been one of the most successful WPT festivals over that period.

Last year, the Championship event attracted 590 players, with Scott Eskenazi walking away with the trophy and $361,000 in prize money.

This time around, we can expect similar attendance, with players from the West Coast and beyond flocking to California to battle it out for valuable WPT silverware.

Day 1 of this year’s WPT Rolling Thunder Championship starts on Saturday, March 23. To enter the event, players will have to pony up a $3,500 buy-in fee.

The tournament will feature just one starting day, with all Day 1 survivors coming back on Sunday to play Day 2. The event will then feature two more days in total, with the final fourth day being reserved for televised final table action.

As usual, all WPT Main Event players will get a lot of play for their buy-in, with 50,000 starting chips and 60-minute levels throughout the event.

WPT Rolling Thunder Highlights and Schedule

The preliminary events at WPT Rolling Thunder have already started, all with buyins between $200 and $500 leading up to the first major event of the festival on March 14.

The $1,000,000 guaranteed NLH Deepstack event will kick off on March 14 and feature four days in total. This event is likely to have the highest turnout across the festival and make one a few lucky final tablers quite rich.

Some of the other highlight events include the $250k NLH Jacked Stack with a $1,100 buyin, $100k Guaranteed NLH with $1,500 buyin, and the $100k Bounty event with a $1,500 buyin.
