In craps, the Yo bet is placed when a player believes the shooter will roll an 11 on their next turn. Therefore, Yo bet craps is a single-roll wager that can be made at any time in the game. The true odds of the shooter throwing an 11 is 17:1 (2 in 36) but most casinos payout 15:1 odds. This means that if a player wagers $1 on a Yo Bet, they will receive $15 if the bet wins.

The difference between the true odds and the payout odds puts the house edge at 11.11%. It is a very high house edge, which puts players at a disadvantage. The Yo bet has a higher payout than most other single-roll bets and it does not affect any other active bets when placed. In addition, this bet is commonly placed by players on the come out roll.

Is it a Good Idea?

From a craps strategy perspective, it is not a good idea to make this bet because of the high house edge. The high payout might be enticing, but there is a high chance that the shooter will not roll an 11, because it is the second most uncommon number rolled in craps. If you must make this bet, it is better for you to pair it with other bets. For example, combining the Yo bet with a pass line bet reduces the house edge and increases your chance to win.
